DESCRIPTION

This exhibition not just presents works of artists from various generations but also puts forth different art forms. There is ‘Flute Player’ from Old Bengal School, watercolours by Bhupen Khakhar and Rekha Rodwittiya, narratives by Hebbar, Sanaulla and Raval. The gallery has also brought out Bandit Queen by M F Husain and Torso by Tyeb Mehta. Then there is a whole range of young artists where we have Oil on canvas by Abir Karmakar, Shibu Natesan and Abir Karmakar where all three of then bring to the canvas very individual interests not just through the subject but also the way they treat their medium. Among works that widen the spectrum of art are posters by Prasad Raghavan and illustration by Vidha Saumya.

The carefully selected works not only set a stage for the launch of the book but take us through a nostalgic lane of works that have long gone and are living now.
