beyond the linear
Jaya Lamba's paintings are influenced by a multitude of experiences that span cities and cultures, the omnipresent bright red lines running through as a web that connects her distinct experiences and represents the pushing-forward of the world.
The key to her oeuvre are shocking, vibrant colors and a deep study of the human form. She draws inspiration from her immediate context– be it the philosophical and spiritual odyssey of the soul or the ever-present pressures of politics;or the sinuous curves of muscles stretched taut .
The images in Jaya's work weave through both the corporeal and psychological worlds, creating visual representations of things unseen and bringing new depth and focus to the human figure.
