DESCRIPTION

I created these five sculptures and two drawings using mark making methods on pedestals and an iPad. By chiseling the marks on the pedestals, I use the method of mark making, which originated from two dimensional forms (painting), to create three-dimensional forms (sculpture). I also use this method of dimensional transformation in the way that I layer the marks on top of the iPad screen. Throwing Tomatoes and Mark Making re-defines/re-interprets conventional visual elements such as dimensions, pedestal, eye level height, and golden ratio from today’s view point. ~ Nari Kim
