Statement

My passion for graffiti began as a kid in the early 80’s; greatly inspired by early Amsterdam writers like Ego, Dragon, Collodi, Tarantula.

In ‘84 I attended graphic school in Amsterdam: It was here where I met the brother of Harakiri, an artist who I and many others consider an oldschool graffiti king: He taught me the in's and out's of tagging and much of what I know to this very day.

Soon after, in the early 1990’s, I began sketching and producing comics, illustrating, and writing poetry.  Experimenting in this manner led me to showcasing much of what I produced.  Towards the end of the 90’s I ran into an artistic impasse and felt the need to re-ignite a creative spark I felt I had lost. As a result, I went back to my roots; graffiti writing. It was at this point I began to utilize the city as my canvas, and turn my poetry into street art.

This summer Lebowski Publishers released a compilation of my poetry and art in the book entitled, Are You Reading Me? (2009). In addition, my work has featured in many galleries throughout Amsterdam and London.
