Statement
Brady paints about the everyday things of our lives. He plays with motif and style so that he can better explore and reveal his own understanding of painting. He is not seeking a simple or coherent explanation of painting, but rather to engage with all the conflicting, ambiguous qualities involved in making paintings today. Simple inversions play with the conventions within painting, but also open up notions of personal motif and archetypical connotation. We are provided with a gentle conflation of motif, material and styles with which we can create our own story.
