Goodman, an American artist working with a variety of media, utilizes her dedication to process in a material based practice to emphasize content. Her work, based largely on personal life experiences, dreams, and journeys, creates an autobiographical pastiche, complete with mythical beasts and barren landscapes. Goodman engages viewers through the employment of universal motifs, providing a common thread between the viewer and the imagery. Found objects, natural elements, and mass produced objects are often utilized, each purposefully chosen to suggest meaning within the given context. Goodman uses this illusive world as a platform to address the human condition and it’s effect on the human spirit.
