By profession I was an elementary and junior high music teacher. My wife and I sang folk music for many years, but in 1981 I discovered a latent flair for visual art and gained support from many of my artist peers. I was fortunate to receive many awards at regional and national shows and after much experimentation settled on abstract and landscapes genres. My landscapes are not turbulent or stormy scenes- rather I choose to convey peace and serenity, highlighting color tints. Each work is created from imagination rather than from actual scenes. The last several years I've been doing digital painting in landscape and abstract motifs. The early years I used entirely pastels but now I use only digital media. Most all my work in digital painting is on your website at artslant. This will sound strange- but feel very comfortable working three "Tracks"- landscape/abstract and angelic motiffs. I've had several shows at Penn State University- the last being three years ago featuring my digital painting. I'm not doing much lately accept staying in the "process". I could supply you information of shows through the years- if interested.
I was born and raised in Scranton Pennsylvania. In 1961, after graduating from Lycoming College, pursued a career teaching music in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Public schools. I now reside with my wife Barbara in Bellefonte Pa. located in central Pennsylvania. My interests still remain in Folk music - playing banjo- guitar-and recorder-singing at the drop of a "hat" and art.
