Where I Reside

Currently I reside in the beautiful city of Austin Texas, a great home to many fantastic artists and musicians.   I am blessed to be surrounded by talented and enthusiastic people.

Whether I am hiking Austin’s trail, swimming in local streams or studying the Texas sunsets I am always fascinated by the vibrant colors that are always changing with the seasons.  The hues and values that are revealed in limestone or slate, The vibrant pinks and reds that explode from the Texas Red Bud trees in the spring in Austin are just some of the colors that I am mesmerized by.

The Splendor Of Abstract

If we were  born blind and then and given the gift of sight, that first moment would be wonderment in itself.  Everything viewed would be an abstract until a name was attached.   Often times through out the day I see the colors and lines first until the image is revealed.  On the opposite spectrum, I will look at abstract paintings and see images of life.  Lose yourself in my art and rediscover your active imagination.

Artistic Style

Bright acrylics, gold leaf oil pastels, charcoals and colored pencils are all manipulated in my work. Just as in nature, I try to leave subtle innuendos to be discovered by the viewer.  I strive for a sense of bewilderment for my audience.  Textures compete with multiple overlaid colors intensified by heavy layers of varnish on my canvases.
