Statement

Stephanie Mercado is a Los Angeles artist. Her work includes painting, printmaking and textiles. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Painting from California State University Long Beach. Her paintings are primarily figurative works with surreal elements and historical references. Her primary mediums are oil and gouache. Stephanie Mercado has published more than 50 editions. Her primary printmaking mediums are drypoint on plexiglass, etching, relief and serigraphy. Select prints combine printmaking mediums and a combination of painting and mixed media. She has also used traditional printmaking methods to create and transfer images to textiles. She has exhibited internationally including shows in Spain and British Columbia. She has also exhibited in Colorado, Chicago, Indiana, and Texas within the United States. She is represented by Hooks-Epstein Galleries in Houston, TX.
