What is the difference between drawing and painting?

I was observing a conversation on the Drawing Research Network about the differences (if any) between drawing and painting.  My work sits between the two, with a foot in both I would suppose.  That said, I am wondering what the difference may be.  Is it a strict definition where painting uses the elements of drawing and color?  If a drawing uses color, does it therefore become a painting?  Is it a medium-based difference?  I use acrylic paint in some of my drawings, but I do not call them paintings.  Perhaps I should name them Pawings or Draintings.  In the end, I don't think it really matters, bu...
