...Yelena Tylkina creates a poetic and dramatic art which is real, yet sublime and spiritual...
Doctor Regina Khidikel, Chief Curator of the Russian Cultural Center, NYC , 1995
"Dark Night of The Soul"
...What becomes clear for the viewer after spending even a short amount of time with Yelena Tylkina's artwork is that they are imagistically complex, iconographically dense renderings of the imagination. More importantly, her works are a means for the artist to reinterpret her inner and outer life as a condition reflecting a personal, psychological destiny, which falls within the bounds of the history of art making, that is cultural consciousness itself...
Domenic Nahas, an art critic and former director of the Neuberger Museum, NY, 2001
"Marvelous Pebble in the Mosaics of Arts"
...Each and every one of Yelena Tylkina's works is a philosophical, social and psychoanalytical essay, which is contemporary and timeless, professionally executed and emotionally deep...
Doctor Margarita Shklayrevskay, "Russian Bazaar" newspaper, 2008
"Erotic Blossom and Brooding Fantasies"
I suggest that Tylkina's dramatic images of women and symbols of women, whether morbidly flavored or ecstatically colorful, celebrate the cult of herself and the sacred complexity of women.
Donald Kuspit, 2008
