Statement

Martine Syms is an LA-based conceptual entrepreneur who uses publishing, video, and performance to look at the making and reception of meaning in contemporary America. Her work has been shown at the New Museum, the Studio Museum, White Flag Projects, ICA Philadelphia, and 356 Mission, among many others. Syms is Director of Dominica Press. She recently collaborated with Kahlil Joseph on the short film Memory Palace for MoCA TV, and her solo show Vertical Elevated Oblique opens September 17th at Bridget Donahue Gallery, NYC.
