Statement

I make personal paintings and drawings that reflect my experience and interests. Everything I do is a sketch or cartoon in some way, even if it's an installation or a curated show. I'll call my work magic realism, what the hell? It fits.

Aside from creating my own artwork, I organize independent exhibitions and provide curatorial, installation, and educational services for other venues. I founded Davis Art Projects in 2007 to facilitate these activities. I've organized dozens of shows, both in such established venues as Sotheby's and in pop-up galleries that I've renovated myself. Davis Art Projects has organized booths at art fairs in New York and Miami. I've had the opportunity to travel to Beijing and Oaxaca to work with artists there, and participated in the 2013 He Shun County Arts Festival in rural Shanxi.

Art promotes cultural understanding and builds bridges. It's also a good time.
