Artist's Statement

Krister Eide is an illustrator who lives in Edmonds, just north of Seattle. He enjoys painting illustrations for children, especially imaginary worlds and animals. When he's not drawing or painting, he helps injured animals return to health at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Present and past education includes the BFA Program in Children's Book Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in Denver as well a workshops and classes with visual development artist Ty Carter, the Gage Academy in Seattle, Oatley Academy, School of Visual Storytelling, and CG Society. 

Krister works in traditional as well as digital media. For complex scenes he may use clay maquette models or uses 3D software modeling programs before drawing or painting. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, Society of Illustrators, and Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
