Izidora Leber LETHE
Izidora Leber LETHE is a Croatian-Swiss contemporary conceptual sculptor. She is currently living and working in Oakland and San Francisco, CA.
She received her BFA from ZHdK, Zurich School of the Arts in Zurich, Switzerland with honors and her MFA in 2017 at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) cum laude.
Her main interest lies in extracting dominant narratives in (art)history and to examine ideologies of Empires in order to trace their impact onto our understanding of culture today. The act of tracing constitutes a central tool in her work as she often traces what is getting lost but should be remembered. She derives from the idea of pure form in minimalism and uses those strategies to infuse them with complications central to contemporary global and urbanized life. Detailed attention is payed to materials, as they stand for their metaphorical suggestiveness.
