Statement

Born in Limerick City, Ireland 1973. I attended the Limerick School of Art & Design graduating in 1997. I moved to Cyprus in 1999 to complete a post graduate degree at the Lemba college of art. I am currently living in Madrid.

My recent work is concerned with the city, it attempts to express the less tangible aspects of the urban complex ....a shadow, a corner, the weather...the city itself is a work in progress, an ever expanding metropolis always in flux. My paintings try to process visual imprint and subjective response. I  focus on the physical act of painting itself exploring its natural process, the gestural mark takes center stage. In the end I want to make paintings about how things feel.
