Jessica Fu is a Hong Kong based Artist. She lived and worked out of Chicago and Hong Kong recently. She received her MFA in Fiber and Materials studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015. She joined the artist residency at Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice, Italy after graduating from SAIC.
She experiments with formlessness material, human body to social phenomenon as a metaphor to ask the philosophical question of ontology, “What is reality” to the audience. The imaginative spaces she created allow us to understand life through the exploration of death. Her work has been exhibited and screened in Canada, USA, and Hong Kong since 2010. Selected exhibitions included Marble Print & Clay, Woman Made Gallery, Sullivan Galleries, The Edge Gallery, The Japanese Paper Place and Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition. In 2006-2012, she worked as a Volunteer as a Classroom assistant at Winnipeg Art Gallery Studio Course for Children Art. She is working as a part-time teaching assistant at Open University of Hong Kong.
Jessica Fu has invited by Koganecho Artist in Residence in Yokohama, Japan in summer 2016, while she plans to keep working, exhibiting and exchanging ideas and new works with this opportunity.
