Beast & Burden
Emily Bridge and Emma Witter are a London based artistic partnership, with a cross-disciplinary practice in set design and sculpture. They share an almost childlike fascination with food and dining, connecting on their shared interest in how social relationships and visual associations are triggered by food. They obsessively salvage animal bones from their own meals to create sculptural artworks, and are interested in it’s wide availability as an industrial by-product. Their creations often examine different possible approaches to food presentation, through engagement with surface, composition and form. They often explore ideas of absurdity, disgust and surrealism, fabricating imaginary meals and tableware.
