Xavier Hufkens is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition by Lesley Vance in the gallery. The exhibition includes both new oil paintings on linen and watercolours on paper. Lesley Vance’s paintings exploit the full potential of contemporary painting. Her abstract compositions accentuate the material qualities of paint but at the same time demonstrate the medium’s ability to create fictional spaces. In a supreme gesture of equity, this response includes exactly ten words on each of the thirty artists included in the exhibition.
