Painting is Love

Painting is love.  By love, I don't mean a smaltzy attitude of romance. Like true love, painting commands committment from the artist, the ups and downs of relationship including pain and pleasure. It's up to the artist to grapple with the elements of meaning making during the process of creating. Be it a zen discipline or highly active encounter with the muse that the artist cultivates, she stands at the brink of the unknown and brings back insights.
