Anna is a UK based, Swedish born artist specialising in mixed media paintings on paper. Her work investigates notions of displacement in relation to ideas related to ‘being’, belonging and remembering. She utilises a range of techniques, such as drawing, painting and printmaking in her practice. In this most recent body of work she considers how melancholy relates to loss, longing and the passing of time. This is her visual portrayal of the complicated relationship between the present and fragmented nature of the past.

The images she constructs also have a strong visual connection with her childhood and Nordic culture. The ‘real’ sites depicted within this work are coupled with fictional elements. By merging imagery from different contexts Anna is attempting to visually express her own feelings of displacement within the image.
