Esther Marie Chagaris started painting at the age of thirteen because she was curious while watching her mother plein aire  painting outside. Her passion for art continued into adulthood as she pursued formal education in the arts, eventually earning a bachelor of arts from the University of New York at Stony Brook.

During her undergraduate, she was awarded a fellowship and hand selected for a renowned art residency at The Chautauqua Institution for an entire summer.  September 2003, she was selected and awarded a full scholarship to the Vermont Studio in Johnson, VT.  After completion of her BFA, Chagaris was fortunate to have her very own private Artist in Residency in Smithtown, NY.  This unheard of experience on beautiful acreage was on Ships’ Hole Farm for four years.
A native of Long Island, Esther Marie Chagaris actively exhibits across New England, and has participated in many arts related gallery shows, auctions and events. Her works have been acquired and commissioned for inclusion in various private, corporate, and public collections.

She now will graduate with her Masters of Fine art from Long Island University in May 2014, works and maintains a studio in Huntington Station, where she lives with her fiance and fluffy gray cat Jones.
