Cory Zimmerman, born in Illinois in 1980, is a contemporary nonfigurative abstract painter. He studied art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the University of New Mexico, and the Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Dividing his studio time between Taos, New Mexico and Providence, Rhode Island, Zimmerman creates two dimensional contemporary abstract works of varying scale, medium, and style. Energetic experimentation and emotional knowledge have guided his artistic evolution within the universal language of abstract expression. Zimmerman has pieces in various collections in the United States and abroad.
