Who is Vincent Alexander?

A young South Florida native raised in Chicago.

Not being a graduate of any major art school or university, his love for art, and his intuitive talents seem to simply come to him by his nature.

In his formative years, he thrived on the complexities of urban life and the abstract images that became a part of his artistic DNA. He proudly expresses his feeling that this background was all the more meaningful to him as the child of a black father and a white mother.

Inspired by his self study of many different art periods and master artists, Alexander employs a variety of styles and creative techniques. His simple but novel designs, executed in dramatic scale, captivate his viewers.

His brush stroke is powerful, often complimented by the use of his hands and fingers, and even the subtle impact of the gravity of the paint on his palette meeting the canvas to create dramatic effects. He liberally employs a variety of mediums, finishes, mattes and glosses. These starkly different techniques and bold colors, with the constant contrast of dark and light, add a sensual depth and texture to his canvases that some find to be akin to nothing less than an artistic aphrodisiac.

Thus far in his career he has painted single works that have shown only some of the diversity of this craft. However, he is prodigious in his work ethic and is rapidly moving to the next level with the creation of he collections expanding upon these early works.

Witness his creativity and depth as he evolves in his personal artistic vortex, where the reality art runs in his veins, expressing his inner perception of art as a peaceful medium providing him his personal freedom.

Alexander loves risk and edginess. Walk with him into his Gallery One and Gallery Two to find the paintings that he hopes will touch a part of your emotions that only the two of you will understand.
