John Boyle-Singfield works in a large array of mediums, including video, sculpture, installation, painting, text and internet. His conceptual approach focused on hijacking brings a critical reflexion on the art field, considering issues of production and participation generated by mass-media technologies and information systems. Whitin these transformations, he engages hybrid practices that ultimately questions the meaning of art and its behavior inside society.
John Boyle-Singfield was born in Chicoutimi, QC in 1987. He received his BA from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 2013 and studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon in 2011. John Boyle-Singfield's work has recently been shown at Oboro centre, Montreal; Le Lieu, Quebec City and Espace Virtuel, Chicoutimi. He lives and works in Montreal.
