Art to me is about exploration and discovery, whether it be of materials and methods, the external physical world or the internal world of subjective emotion. I consider myself a Formalist/Neo-Modernist still clinging to the idea of an autonomous intrinsic aethetic of a work creating a instantaneous allure as a result of composition, interplay of color and texture. All the better should it have content. I am fasinated by lingustic and anthropological Structuralism, believing that all peoples share a common language and/or mythology. Some art speaks to some, some art speaks to all.
