Nic Rosine: Bio

Pulling from a creative background of literary prose, self taught artist Nic Rosine uses the tools of paint & brush to translate the words which reside within her. Nic Rosine’s art utilizes composition, contrasting color story, spaces within objects, shadows, and lines to vocalize her thoughts, emotions, and philosophical beliefs; much of this feeds off of her background and constant state of life which is continuously inconsistent in relation to fitting into social, ethnic, and religious categories.

Most dominant themes are inspired by her introspective and spiritual nature, as well as the competing relationships between perfection versus imperfection, and logic versus emotion. Emotions and philosophies are translated through the dance between shadow & line, and it is this evolution of self & society that is manifested within her pieces.

While each piece holds a personal significance in its creation and finishing, it is not her goal to have viewers duplicate her own perceptions, but rather to produce a piece that resonates emotions and evokes thoughts specific to each viewer.

“i see spaces within objects,
the heavy burdens & the weightless dreams,
resonating light & the abyss of darkness,
…this dance between shadow & line”
