Statement

Kudzanai Chiurai was born in Harare, Zimbabwe and currently lives and works in Harare. In 2006 he completed his BFA at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Since then he has participated in a number of local and international group exhibitions, including the Dakar Biennale, Africa Now, New Painting, Figures & Fictions and Documenta 13. In 2012 he was awarded the FNB Art Prize. Chiurai’s work is included in the collections of BHP Biliton, Nando’s UK, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Iziko South African National Gallery in Cape Town.
