Graduating with a Masters in Fine Art 2011 and BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting 2009, (both NCAD, Dublin), Myra Jago was emerging artist for Manifest, Kinsale and ArtNow: Dublin Contemporary in 2011. Working through paint, drawing and sculpture, Jago has won financial support from Dun Laoghaire County Council, Dublin City Council and The European League of Institutes of The Arts (ELIA), Brussels.
Invited to become a gallery artist at Avenue Road Gallery, Portobello, Dublin, Jago has also exhibited at Gormley's Fine Art and The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Dublin, working with curators Jennette Donnelly, Bernadette Madden and Jim Ricks respectively. In 2013, she completed residencies at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Co. Monaghan and deAppendix, Amaranta F.P., Co. Dublin, culminating in a salon and solo exhibition at the medical practice. This year the artist also exhibited in Copy.Right? at 33 Contemporary Gallery, Chicago USA and Creative Exchange's 'Art in the Eastside'Billboard Project, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Jago was invited to address the Open University of Ireland Celebrations in Belfast, November 2013, on Exploring literature through the lens of other art forms.
Myra Jago has exhibited throughout Ireland, won a site-specific ELIA commission in Brussels, co-produced an audience-participatory event on Dame Street, Dublin and exhibited in The Central Bank, Dame Street, Dublin. Her work appears in The OPW Collections at St. Stevens Green, Athlone and Roscommon; The Central Bank Collection; The AXA Insurance Collection; Kildare County Council Collection and many private collections throughout Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Japan, UK and USA.
