I aim to explore the areas of personal space and social customs through a methodology akin to the scientific method. My work seeks to reveal the underlying structures that exist in the reflexive notion of the self and other. By setting up scenarios and enacting singular, minor gestures, I allow the work to reveal variables that show the invisible systems of interaction. Sites of social interaction provide a platform that simultaneously define and blur the ideas of intimate and public self.
Through performance, in the form of intervention of social site, I document the interactions and redisplay them through encompassing video installations that immerse the viewer. The bodies on screen act as a vehicle to consider the territories we navigate both privately and publicly. The viewer acts as both spectral observer and complicit researcher.
