As an artist, I have transitioned from painting to working more conceptually. My interests revolve primarily around socio-political issues. More specifically, I am focused on disparities between modern democratic ideals and action in the United States and European Union. Most of my recent ideas are motivated by racism, police brutality, xenophobia, and the continued exploitation of people and lands for economic gain by postcolonial powers. These issues have informed my more recent work and they drive me to present projects which can create discourse.
Within the context of the art world, my goals are to bring my work to a broader audience in a way that is direct and unambiguous rather than creating work that can only be interpreted by other artists. Thus, much of my recent work and planned projects unapologetically lie within the visual spectrum of kitsch while critically examining multi-layered issues.
