Fakeha Tarannum’s Profile

Tarannum’s works are based on the world around her, and on thoughts and moods, which are presented in abstract symbolic or representational forms. She attempts to reach through her work a state of spiritual and physical unity and to create a sense of balance, inter-connectedness, and harmony.

It seems to her that the world is convulsed in calamities verging on chaos. Yet the song of the bird soars into the sky well above the city’s din, and those are the regions her spirit seeks.

She endeavors to blend her contemporary aesthetic with the roots of her traditional culture. Her work, which appears to be characterised by what, appears to be accident and chance is in fact, deeply thought out and meticulously planned.

Fakeha Tarannum lives and works in New Delhi.
