My recent work is based on geometrical abstraction with a deep focus on color. Oil is my main medium. I use a flat and thin application with hard edges to cancel texture completely, so that color has the leading role. As we see the world in full spectrum it makes sense for me to use the full palette in my work.
Geometry has always been the most direct way to simplify shapes. In the past I have done a lot of paper collages with simple geometrical shapes, and today I do similar work using oil and brushes directly on canvas.
The excitement of experimentation has always been a motivating force. I constantly work outdoors, examining colors in natural light conditions in order to be able to create different light keys and a particular mood for every painting.
I am not interested in copying anything that would be recognizable in details. I work from imagination and memories of times and places.
