Statement

Steve More is an Edinburgh based artist working with materials commonly found in the urban environment. Torn down billposters, wood and concrete are typical of the mediums he uses to emphasise physicality and the passage of time. Employing processes such as abrasion and décollage More’s work occupies a space between painting and sculpture and explores the theme of our shifting attitudes towards time and place in the digital age.

More began as a graffiti artist in the mid 1980’s before switching to studio-based work in 2005. More, 44, is based in Edinburgh and has exhibited in cities such as San Francisco, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Paris.
