Oregon Abstract Artist Christopher Bookhart was born in Portland Oregon and is a self taught artist, who began drawing at the age of 50 with no formal training. He was inspired to start drawing after picking up an art magazine that show drawings from master artist like Picasso and Matisse and works of Surrealism by Dali. Christopher then began reading books on Art History which inspired him to create works of art in his own style. In his own words Christopher tells us "Each day i try to spend at least 3 hours of the day working on art projects.Drawing engages me on many levels, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Drawing also allows me a way to make visible the world of my imagination and communicate ideas. My drawings express the emotional impact of these perceptions, intertwined with my attitudes, beliefs and history.I work mostly with color pencils and i also do works in chalk and oil pastels. My art is a gift to the world so please enjoy this gift.
