John O’Connor lives and works in New York. He is represented by Pierogi Gallery in Brooklyn and Martin Asbaek Gallery in Copenhagen. He currently teaches at Sarah Lawrence College, Pratt Institute, and Princeton University. He is the recipient of the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Foundation Residency Award in 2012, the New York Foundation for the Arts Grant in 2008, the Pollock-Krasner Grant and the Farpath Residency in 2007, and was a participant at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2000. Among others, his work is in the collections of The Whitney Museum, MoMA, The New Museum, and this year was included in “Classless Society” at the Tang Museum.
