contemporary-art drawing, pastels-on-paper, abstract-expressionism, Paintings., abstract painting painting landscape painting abstract

I describe my work as contemporary with a traditional flair. Many would classify my work as abstract, meaning art that does not attempt to represent the appearance of objects weather real or imaginary.

My art encompasses soft pastels intermixed with many textures, boards surfaces, and vibrant colors in which I then create a layering effect. Various applications techniques such as blending, dabbling strokes, cross hatching and much more allows myself to create a design I can build on.

When asked what inspires me to be creative I simply say, "Abstract work is a feeling process with design knowledge. It is important to be free of all expectations and let yourself paint who you are"

Starting with Traditional styles and subject matter my love of the abstract was evolving and I worked mostly with Acrylic and Oils. I soon found myself working with Soft Pastels and loving it.  I sill love the Acrylics and work with the medium as another way to express myself. Paint "what you are" and "how you feel" is something I have always told my students. My passion is to paint, my vision is the "Journey of Possibilities"

I feel that artwork should be admired, and engage the viewer to be in a happy place, creating a Healthy Mind, Healthy Body, and Healthy Environment. All my experiences have been full of growth and adventure. Always leading me to the "Journey of Possibilities"
