REISIG AND TAYLOR
I am a native of Los Angeles and a self taught painter and photographer.
In my paintings, emotion comes first, often very subtle. I want the viewer to want to return to the images multiple times to take a closer look. My style and work is reflective and quiet; quite the opposite of my personality.
I think of my photography work as an ongoing project that evolves from one primary image and is allowed to change with the natural environment and through experimentation of different mediums.
The Polaroid Flower images are a singular series that occupy a realm between past and the present, resulting in imagery that feels at once progressive and familiar. These polaroids are unique and undupliacatable, eye catching from a medium that does not exist any longer. They are at once a traditional subject coupled with contemporary appeal. Polaroid is a perfect medium for these flowers . Polaroid emulates the flower in an elegant, yet somewhat backward formula, in that it is purposeful, evolutionary, transitory, fragile and attractive. Both harbor a secret life of seeds and fruit influenced by purpose, time and elements. These photographs have matured from an interpretation into a presentation of distinctive beauty.
I am always making and creating; my friends, family and favorite people are often my muse.
I welcome all critique.
