Marilyn Stempel is a native of Southern California. The Los Angeles area propels her work. She grew up in the art materials industry and had the pleasure of meeting major illustrators including Jake Lee, Neil Boyle and Ren Wicks. 

Marilyn Stempel has worked as a painter, sculptor, cartoonist, designer, set designer and set photographer. She has worked on both large and small scale projects.

Her abstract paintings come from within, and express the mood and emotion she finds within her subjects. Her realistic work exudes energy.

Marilyn Stempel’s recent Installations include: April 2014, Chatsworth CA Amtrack / Metrolink , March 2013, Chatsworth CA Amtrack Metrolink Station,  February 2012, solo installation, Chatsworth Metro-Link Station Windows, February 2011,a solo installation The Wine Bar and Gallery in Long Beach California; June 2011,a two person installation at the Madrid Theatre in Canoga Park, California

She has won several awards, in May 2011 she won an award in The Art Council of Conejo Valley’s in the show “ Elements”; for her painting “ San Bruno Ashes”. Her sculptural work has been seen at Affair in the Gardens in Beverly Hills California, and several galleries in the greater Los Angeles area. Her paintings have been juried into multiple group shows.
