Statement

Michelle Chong was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She lives and works in Los Angeles. She received an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design and a Master's in Clinical Psychology with a Specialization in Spiritual and Depth Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles.

Chong has exhibited at Art Laboratory Berlin, Berlin; Koh-i-noor, Copenhagen; The Institute of Jamais Vu, London; Hanover Project, University of Central Lancashire; Little Berlin, Philadelphia; The MexiCali Biennial 2009/10and the Torrance Art MuseumChong is a grant recipient of Creative Capacity Fund’s NextGen Arts Program. She is the Director of Short House, a curatorial project, and has curated shows at artillerie, Berlin; Shangrila, Joshua Tree; Elephant, Los Angeles; and monk space, Los Angeles. She has served as Board Member for the Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS), Los Angeles; Board Member, Foundation for Art Resources (FAR), Los Angeles; and Member of Kolonie Wedding, Berlin.
