Statement

Studied ceramic sculpture and awarded BFA degree at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1991. Studied with John Roloff, Arthur Gonzalez and Richard Burger. After SFAI I focused on sculpting figurative ceramic works, with an emphasis on bust sculptures of historically and socially important individuals.

My commissioned, public artworks include: a bronze bust of Cesar E. Chavez; installed at Cesar E. Chavez Park in Modesto, CA, ceramic busts of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy; installed at the King Kennedy Memorial Center in Modesto, CA, bronze busts of HH the Dalai Lama and Albert Einstein; installed at the Frances Suddeth Josephson Liberty Garden sculpture park located at Pinewood Preparatory School in Summerville, SC, a 20 foot by 20 foot painted wall mural entitled "Valley of Life"; located in Modesto,CA.

I have exhibited my work at galleries in the Bay Area and the Central Valley, these include: California Modern Art Gallery (ARTundressed Art Exhibition, Nov. 2009) in San Francisco, S3X Gallery (s3xploration, Feb. 2012) in San Francisco and the Pacific Art League Main Gallery (Spring Awakening, April 2014) in Palo Alto.

I have won awards for my work at a variety of juried regional art exhibitions. Most recently I was awarded Best Of Show in April, 2014 for my figurative sculpture "Classical Male" at The Essential Nude 2014 figurative art exhibition sponsored by the Livermore Art Association in Livermore, California.

See examples of my work at my site: www.studiobryan.com

I am available for commissions: Figurative sculptures including head, bust, torso studies or complete figure/statue. Painted portraits, landscapes, seascapes, nude studies, etc. Masks that resemble those made by various world cultures. Drawings: graphite pencil, color pencil or pastels.
