Statement

ARTIST STATEMENT

THE DREAMS I AM CONCERNED WITH ARE THE DREAMS THAT LIMIT US. DREAMS FORMED FROM A SINGLE PERSPECTIVE OF FINANCIAL SUCCESS, OUR CULTURAL IDENTITY. MOVING BEYOND THESE LIMITATIONS FORCES AN EXAMINATION OF BIRTHPLACE AND CHILDHOOD. IMAGES THAT DIVIDE US, BUILT ON TIERED OPPORTUNITIES, INEQUALITY, AND WALLS OF FALSE EXPECTATIONS. QUESTIONING THE DESIRABILITY OF THE AMERICAN DREAM. DECONSTRUCTING AND UNDERMINING THE VERY THINGS THAT BUILT US. PRESENTING A FREEDOM FROM PLACE; A NEW EXPLORATION OF SELF.
