American artist Kate Sikorski (b. 1983) has an M.F.A. in Drawing from California State University, Long Beach and a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She traveled and worked with the non-profit Greenpeace International; fabricating props, assisting in the coordination of public performance art pieces, and cleaning the occasional ship toilet. She also farmed on a commune for a brief period in Hawaii. Kate has been the recipient of a number of creative grants and scholarships abroad and at home, and was the Chloe Flores Facebook resident artist for March 2013. Her interests in play and exploration fuel her work, which has appeared on Fox TV News and has been written up by the Huffington Post, New American Paintings, and various international publications. Kate currently lives and works in Surf City, USA.
