Jacqueline Bell Johnson started exploring art in depth in her hometown of Baltimore after acceptance into a high school magnet program for the visual arts.  She went on to pursue the arts in college, moving to Oakland to study at California College of Arts and Crafts, earning her BFA in 2004.  After moving down to southern California, she attend Claremont Graduate University, receiving her MFA in 2013.  Since then, Jackie has been active in the Los Angeles’ art scene, exhibiting, collaborating, and curating.

In January of 2014, she had the opportunity to create an installation at Human Resources in LA’s Chinatown that served as the setting for a performance by musician Dorian Wood.  Later in 2014 she traveled to Japan to exhibit and lecture as part of the Butterfly Effect, a collaborative art project.  She is currently working on an exhibition project with Craftswoman House that will happen this summer.  Jackie works out of her home studio, also known as her garage.
