Statement

David Corbett lives and works in Portland, OR. Recent solo exhibitions include “New Work” at Linfield College Gallery, McMinnville, OR in 2010; “Change Makes it New” at 65GRAND in 2009; and “Light Brings Dark Brings Light,” also at 65GRAND, in 2007. Recent group exhibitions include “Construct” at Archer Gallery, Clark College, Vancouver, WA in 2013; and “Southern Pacific”, which travelled to the Lawndale Art Center in Houston, TX in 2011 and to Gallery Homeland in Portland, OR in 2012. In 2013 Corbett was awarded a grant from the Ford Family Foundation to attend the Djerassi Resident Artists Program. He received his MFA from Rutgers University and his BFA from San Francisco State University.
