Statement

Julia Schmid´s Art develops from questioning the human being in a world full of permanent informational overflow. Social and philosophical topics relating to empiricism, knowledge and intuition are translated into artistic palimpsests and installation.

Holding a Diploma in Photography from the Munich University for Applied Sciences Julia Schmid autodidactically makes her career as a free Artist.

Since 2008 her Work has been shown in Solo and Group exhibitions including The Ionion Center for the arts and cultures, Kefalonia, The Center for Book Arts New York, The Art Chicago Art Slant Curator ́s Open, USA, Kunsthalle zu Kiel, Germany and Kulturhaus Niederanven, Luxembourg. In 2013 she initiated and curated the Project „For whatever is repugnant to the laws of the intellect and the reason is of course impossible.“ at meinblau e.V. Berlin, Germany.
