Toronto City Hall No 6

In 1957 an international competition was held for a design of a new city hall. A total of 520 designs were received from 42 different countries. The winner of the competition was Finnish architect Viljo Revell. In 1965 Toronto's fourth city hall opened and still serves as the home of the city's council. The 27 storey east tower and the 20 storey west tower surround the saucer shaped council chamber. The saddest part of the history of our current city hall is that Revell died of a heart attack at 54 years old just 10 months prior to the opening ceremonies and never got to see his vision complet... University College Main Building Toronto Canada

The University College Main Building at No 15 King's College Circle on the University Of Toronto campus. Constructed in 1853, the building was severely damaged by a fire that gutted the entire eastern wing and the college library in 1890. More than 33,000 books were destroyed in the college library but within two years, the library was replenished through donations. University College was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1968.Original photography from 2010 using a Canon EOS T1i body with a Canon EFS 18-55mm lens. Every year I look forward to hauling my camera gear off to the various Cycling Races and Running Events around the city and photographing the days activities. I enjoy the atmosphere and as far as the photography goes, it helps me become a little better and adds a new aspect to my portfolio of work. This year I thought it would be a nice change to have a few more familiar faces in the crowd. Holy Name Parish No 71 Gough Ave Toronto Canada

The Holy Name Parish at No 71 Gough Ave in Toronto Canada. In 2014, the church will celebrate it's 100th anniversary. Construction began in 1914 but in the same month the work started, World War I was declared. Building The Holy Name was put on hold as workers all over the city enlisted in the army.
