Dagmar Hricková is young, emerging contemporary artist born in 1988 in Czech republic . She earned her BA in French International Business and spent part of her studies in Paris. She is restless and passionate about travelling so one never know where to catch her up.
She is affected by the art world, as well as from her general surroundings; including friends, family, emotions and alternative culture. She is also greatly moved by music, comedy and literature. And thematically, she is not interested in niceties either. Her works are mostly oils on canvas, contemporary figurative paintings But also the darker, moodier portraits that epitomise the artists ever strengthening personal style.
For her, art is not what one sees, but it is that what is beyond the surface, that has direct relationship with the viewers knowledge and depth of understanding.
And also to her, the beauty is not what is comprised of visually attractive elements. She constantly reads books and articles about art and attends as many exhibitions as she can and her favourite contemporary artists are Alyssa Monks, Norrie Harman, James Wateridge, Josef Bolf and Jan Gemrot
.She also believes that friends and family come first and that "if you are not successful at home, you are not successful at all"
