Austin Parkhill is a professional artist living and working in Alaska. Often described as a “contemporary realist” painter, Parkhill has exhibited his artwork nationally, including the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C.
Parkhill recently spent four years living in the Arctic, where the climatic shifts and coexistence between man & nature have come to motivate some of his most recent works. There he painted and taught art at Ilisagvik College, a tribal college in the northernmost town in the US, Utqiagvik, AK. Prior to his time at the edge of the Arctic Ocean, the artist resided in Colorado and Boston, MA.
