Short Bio Into My Life

I was born in Brooklyn, New York third of seven children.  My father came to America from Greece and my mom was born in America.

It always amazed me how they even fell in love as my mom never spoke Greek and my dad’s English was so bad no one knew what he was saying, but they were in love.

They both worked very hard and even through the depression they managed to keep food on the table and clothes on our backs, which is a blessing in itself.  That being said there wasn’t money, or support for art education.

I left home at 17 years of age, married and started my own family.

Once again there wasn’t an opportunity or even moral support for my talent, but I kept painting.

I painted murals throughout my home do to the lack of money for decorating.  So little did I know about the arts I didn’t know this process was called murals, I just needed to make my home beautiful.

Unfortunately after 17 years it ended and I raised my children myself by working in restaurants and earning extra money painting these character portraits that told a story of the person I was painting. I came up with that idea once again out of necessity and it ended up being a big hit.

Never having an art education I taught myself how to use different mediums and due to the lack of money I had to use my imagination to achieve the desired result I wanted.

No matter what was placed before me any opportunity to use my talent I took it on.  Due to my deep desire my talent grew and grew.

I am on this remarkable journey and to my amazement my talent not only brings me joy but also to many others and for this I am eternally grateful.

I am truly blessed by God and love sharing my talent with the world and encourage everyone to listen to that inner voice and to follow it.
